Mile 140.8 - This is a rather significant spot as it's almost the last
spot accessible by major roads until Cumberland. To get here, take exit 68
from Highway 68 and head south on Orleans Rd for six miles. To get to parts
of the canal upstream, you need to take windy little roads, some with stream crossings.
Because of its strategic location, Bills bar has become a landmark but it recently
burnt down. He's hoping to rebuild soon and the soda machines still work! The
sign advertises beer, groceries and canoes, everything you would need for a day
on the canal.
Just down from Bill's Bar, there's campsites for both group and individual camping,
a boat launch and some parking. 15 Mile Creek runs nearby.
